Whitney joined the NBC29 news team as a general assignment reporter in May 2012.
Before coming to NBC29, Whitney worked as a reporter and anchor for CNS-TV at the Philip Merrill College of Journalism. As a race and politics reporter for CNS-TV she covered everything from the Supreme Court arguments on healthcare, to the passage of the same sex marriage bill in the Maryland Legislature.
Whitney also interned at NBC4 (WRC) in Washington, DC where she served as a field producer and assistant assignment editor, and filed stories for the web.
Whitney is a proud graduate from the University of Maryland, College Park- go Terps! She received her bachelors in communication there in 2010 and then returned for a masters in broadcast journalism in 2012.
Originally from Oxford, Ohio, Whitney has also lived in Madrid and Maryland, but she's happy to now call Charlottesville home. When she's not at work you can catch her exploring the city and staying active by running, going to the gym, and playing tennis. If you see her around, please come up and say hi!

- First TV Appearance: My mom sent my picture into a local TV station when I was a kid, and then woke me up early so I could watch them giving me a shout out on my birthday. I loved it!
- Favorite Story: They're honestly all my favorite. I could never choose. I'm just happy that I can tell a new story every day.
- Dream Interview: I want to interview Oprah-- how cool would it be to interview someone who themselves is considered one of the best interviewers ever?
- Dream Job: Working for the Today Show-- I absolutely love that show!
Most rewarding part of your job: Meeting new people, learning new things, and sharing those experiences with others.

- Favorite Song: Don't Change by Musiq Soulchild. It's about loving someone unconditionally even through life's changes. I want to get married to that song (whoa that's deep, I know)!
- Favorite Author: J.K. Rowling. Harry Potter is amazing. I'm also into James Patterson, and Frank McCourt is one of my favorite writers of all time as well.
- Favorite Vacation Spot: Barcelona- there's beautiful beaches, good food, shopping, and wonderful sites. What more can you ask for?
