The man who was convicted of kicking a baby to death in Albemarle County will have to wait for his final sentencing. Ramon Turley was in court Monday, but it appears his past is catching up with him.

Turley was babysitting 1-year-old Camora Wicks last May when the beating happened. He told police she was crying and crawling up his leg when kicked her.

The 19-year-old pleaded guilty to felony murder in January. Turley was supposed to be sentenced Monday morning in Albemarle County Circuit Court however, new details about his criminal history brought that to a halt.

Turley's attorneys said the pre-sentencing report has come back with a charge from Prince William County.  They say they didn't know about it because it was from when Turley was a juvenile.  The specific charge was not disclosed in open court.

The defense said the issue severely impacted the pre-sentencing report and guidelines and they needed time to review it.

A three-hour-long sentencing hearing is now set for September 4.

Turley faces up to 40 years in prison.
