A new partnership is helping Charlottesville's Sexual Assault Resource Agency (SARA) add staff to its response program.
SARA provides support and crisis intervention to victims of sexual assault on a 24-hour basis. However, a large portion of its outreach comes through the help of volunteers.
Now, with the help of fundraising efforts from MoRawk Events, SARA is able to hire permanent employees to aid in their response team.
Margaret Mikkelsen of SARA said, "We now have paid staff who provide that service and they are trained to a high level of professionalism, but that of course costs money and that's where MoRawk Events came in."
MoRawk raised $1,100 for SARA at a brunch in Belmont on Sunday.
