Kids ranging from ages 7-16 participated in a series of races that included running and biking for three to four miles. While it was a friendly competition, race coordinators say they wanted to teach kids that exercise is more important than winning.
Kim Starr, one of the race coordinators said, "We don't care about first, second, and third place we just want all the racers to finish and understand that lifelong exercise is what they should be focusing on at a young age."
A portion of the proceeds will go to the Matt Henderson Fund which provides financial aid to families in need.
