Wednesday was a big day at William Monroe high school.
Two of the school's top student athletes made it official as to where they will play in college.
Doug Sizemore signed with Division II West Liberty University in West Virginia for wrestling.
Sizemore was a big football star at Monroe, but he's choosing wresting for college.
Sizemore was the district champ this past season and was the 'A' state runner up, and felt wresting was his ticket to college.
"I started off dead set on playing football but then I kind of really started to like wrestling and got better and better," says Sizemore, "and after the state tournament I was so hungry after coming so close and getting second place, I just want to win a championship in wrestling."
Doug Sizemore's father, Mike Sizemore, is the wrestling coach at William Monroe.
"Coaching him as his father I'm extremely proud of him for today," says Mike Sizemore. "As his coach I'm extremely proud of him and our program."
Also on Wednesday, Monroe's Jordan Gentry signed with Louisburg Junior College in North Carolina for baseball.
Gentry was the Jefferson District player of the year last year.
He was 10-0 as a pitcher last season, giving up just six earned runs all season.
This year's he's 4-0 with a 1.69 era and ready to take the next step next year.
"I'm hoping to go there for a year or two and then hopefully go Division I after that," says Gentry. "I went to the campus and it seemed like the right fit. They said I could be a good player on the team so that's what I chose."
