Educators from China Visit Monticello High School - NBC29 WVIR Charlottesville, VA News, Sports and Weather

Twenty-nine educators from China stopped by Monticello High School Wednesday to spend time with students who study their language. The teachers come from the Jiangsu Province.

Monticello High School is the only school in Albemarle County that offers Chinese classes.

Wednesday both the students and visitors shared ways their schools are alike and different. Monticello High School senior Maddy Cohen said, "They actually said in some Chinese schools and American schools the students move around between classes but in Chinese schools the teachers actually move around and that prevents clutter in the hallways."

The educators are all members of the bilingual faculty program, which is part of the Continuing Professional Studies program at the University of Virginia.
