Ronald McDonald House Celebrates Earth Day with Pop Art Contest

The Ronald McDonald house in Charlottesville is celebrating Earth Day with the first Pop Art Contest.

For years, employees have collected soda pop tabs to recycle them and help fund operations at the house. Now they're distributing tabs so artists can turn them into new creations.

You can pick up a bag of tabs at the house on Ninth Street Southwest at Grove Street. Entry fees for art work range from $15 to $75.

An awards ceremony will showcase the artwork at Piedmont Virginia Community College on May 12.
