Water and sewer rates are set to go up in Albemarle County. The Albemarle County Service Authority says the average homeowner could expect a 3.3 percent increase in rates.
The proposed increase will be voted on in late June. Any changes would go into effect July 1.
The service authority also got an update on adding chloramines to the water supply. The plan will cost about $10 million and will be phased in per new Environmental Protection Agency regulations.
The authority says most customers won't notice a difference in the water.
