Albemarle County supervisors have approved a budget for next year, but the work isn't done yet.
They passed a $311,438,139 budget with the understanding the board will make amendments in June after the state budget picture becomes clearer. That is when they hope to understand county school funding needs.
The budget includes an adopted tax rate of 76.2 cents per $100 of assessed real estate value. The small increase is expected to help fund the new Crozet library, Ivy Fire Station and a police firing range.
