The Rivanna Conservation Society is gearing up for a busy summer full of ways to keep central Virginia's waterways safe and clean. But the society needs the public's help.
Organizers are currently planning final details for their 5th annual Rivanna River Sojourn. The two day event will start April 21 and the public's invited to come out one or both days for a guided paddle tour on the Rivanna River Rivanna.
Conservation Society Executive Director Robbi Savage said, "We have a beautiful area that we need to protect because when send our pollution down stream it goes from our community to Richmond and ultimately into the Chesapeake Bay."
Savage says every little thing you can do helps improve Virginia waterways, whether that's getting involved in a river paddle or coming to Clean the Bay Day on June 2.
