Nearly 500 runners pounded the pavement for the 10th annual Miller Lite Charlottesville Marathon Saturday. The 26.2 mile course sent runners weaving through trails in the city.
The winner, Andrew Budiansky was a first time marathon runner. He finished in 2 hours and 38 minutes.
"Around 14 or 15, started to feel a little bit of pain or aches in the legs, cardio was fine so just had to shorten strides and make it more efficient," he said.
Teal Connor won the women's race. She pushed through the finish line at a speedy 2 hours 53 minutes.
Runners also took part in the Whole Foods Half Marathon, 8K Road Race and kids mile.
