Albemarle Police Arrest Perkins After Sex Crimes Investigation
The NBC29 newsroom received the following press release from the Buckingham County Sheriff's Office:
On March 20, 2012 the Buckingham County Sheriff's Office received a complaint in reference to a sexual encounter between an adult male and a juvenile female under the age of 13. The matter was investigated and as a result, James Maurice Perkins, age 26, was criminally charged on the following offenses:
1 Felony Count violating Virginia Code 18.2-67.2 (animate object sexual penetration)
1 Felony Count violating Virginia Code 18.2-67.3 (aggravated sexual battery)
1 Felony Count violating Virginia Code 18.2-361 (crimes against nature-carnally know)
Mr. Perkins was subsequently arrested on 4/4/12 by Albemarle County Police Department and is currently being held without bond in the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail. No further information will be released in this case due to its sensitivity and juvenile involvement.
