Valley April Fools Day Prankster Strikes Again

Posted: Updated:

On this April Fools Day, it seems the Shenandoah Valley's most famous prankster has struck again.

Visitors to Gypsy Hill Park in Staunton Sunday couldn't miss the 50-foot submarine floating in Lake Tams. Waynesboro artist Mark Cline designed and built the vessel, and gathered volunteers to put in it place for April Fools Day. It's complete with Russian markings and a commander who's opened the hatch for a little reconnaissance.

Cline's April Fools creations are gaining notoriety. His past works include a herd of elephants overlooking Waynesboro, a giant "Spiderman" in downtown Lexington, and "Foamhenge" near Natural Bridge.
