Buckingham Sheriff's Office Investigates Fatal Fire
The NBC29 newsroom received the following press release about a fatal fire on Ridge Road in Arvonia on Tuesday morning:
On March 27, 2012 at 2:07 a.m. the Buckingham County Emergency Communications Center received a call in reference to a structure fire in the 4600 block of Ridge Road in the Arvonia area of Buckingham County. Local volunteer firefighters from the Arvonia, Glenmore and Dillwyn Fire Departments responded to find a fully engulfed single wide trailer. Upon extinguishing the blaze, fire department personnel found a deceased male inside.
Deputies with the Sheriffs Office conducted a preliminary investigation and identified the deceased as Kyle Lamont Watkins, age 24, of Buckingham. Due to the circumstances of the fire and the discovery of the deceased, the Virginia State Police were asked to assist in the investigation. Agents specialized in fire investigation responded to the scene to compliment Sheriff Office personnel. The investigation is on]going but it appears that no foul play was involved in this fatal fire.
