VA Festival of the Book Highlights Sustainable Housing

Posted: Updated:

It's enough to make any book lover flip their lid, or at least their pages.  The Virginia Festival of the Book is back in Charlottesville.

Dozens of people packed city council chambers Thursday afternoon for a talk on sustainable housing.  John Quale wrote a book documenting progress on a number of sustainable design ideas for new home construction.

There's more than 100 free book seminars and lectures happening now through the weekend.

Program director Nancy Damon said, "There are programs on every possible kind of thing you might be interested in - war and peace, gardening, poetry, fiction, science fiction, history, mystery, programs for young adult readers."

More than 23,000 people are expected to attend some of the activities this week.  Click here for a complete list of events.
