Grand Jury Indicts Fugitive on Charges for Augusta Shooting

Posted: Updated:

A special grand jury has indicted a man for an Augusta County shooting more than a year ago.

Jonathan Van, 20, is accused of shooting a 19-year-old last March, during a dispute outside the Weyers Cave Community Center.  The victim was shot in the leg and later recovered.

Van is indicted on charges of malicious wounding and using a firearm in a felony.  He's listed as a fugitive, and court records show a "last known address" in northern Virginia.
