Valley's Habitat for Humanity Kicks Off "What Will You Build" Campaign

Posted: Updated:

"What will you build" is the latest campaign for the valley's Habitat for Humanity.

This is Habitat's largest project to date, a 15-acre housing development in the C Street neighborhood of Waynesboro.  Habitat will build 25 townhomes for needy families, a project that will exceed $1 million.

The site has been cleared of brush and more work will be done this spring.  Habitat says the need is evident.

Habitat Board Chair Tom Montgomery said, "More need than ever.  The need for housing for those who are definitely worthy of having a home, but are having a hard time getting a home."

Montgomery has donated $100,000 with a challenge to match.  There is an incentive of a free trip to the Bahamas for eight couples who match the $100,000.
