The former home of Patricia Kluge's "Fuel Company" is back with new owners and a new life as a Sunoco gas station. The Charlottesville gas station cafe closed in 2007 and sold at auction in July for around $500,000.
When all of the final details are in place, the store will sport a smoothie bar and fresh brewed Caribou Coffee. The new owners officially opened the doors this weekend, and say they're excited.
Chandni Desai, the store's new owner said, "I remember driving past this place with the purple lights and stuff, I always thought it was so cool. And now we get to own it, and turn it into our own little vision."
The Desai family has lived in the Charlottesville area for close to 20 years. They say after more than four years, they're proud to be able to bring the building back to life.
