One Albemarle County business is breathing a little easier now that winter's first significant snowfall has come and gone. Express Car Wash depends on cold, snowy winters for a boost in revenue.
After a painfully mild winter, the company is finally getting what they were hoping for - salty, dirty cars in need of a quick rinse. Express says with snow far from the forecast and rain more often than they would like, business has been slow, and the going was getting tough.
Express Car Wash General Manager Johnny Wallace said, "Typically the busiest time of year is the winter, the snow usually is obviously good for business - salt, sand they put out on the roads, it's damaging to paint so people are quick to want to get that off and that brings us a lot of business."
Wallace says they expect people to come piling in the next few days. He says when it's cold the last thing anyone wants to do is pull out a hose and soap and wash their car.
Getting off salt and other grime your car picks up from the roads is always a good idea to protect your paint and your undercarriage from rust.
