A Charlottesville man is dead Sunday night after a crash that shut down part of Interstate 64 in Albemarle County just as the snow started to fall.
The man, 36-year-old Djarad Robinson from Charlottesville was in a Chevy Malibu that ran out of gas and was stopped along east bound Interstate 64 near the 5th Street exit.
Virginia State Police say a 16-year-old driving an SUV ran off the road and slammed into the car. Four people were taken to the University of Virginia Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. Troopers say charges are pending and the accident was not weather related.
