Susan Allen, the wife of former Governor and Senate candidate George Allen, made a swing through Charlottesville late Friday afternoon.
Allen was collecting signatures to get her husband on the state's primary ballot. Allen needs 10,000 people to sign off on the petition by March.
"It's going to go down to the wire. We anticipate a very close election, and come November though, we believe people all across Virginia are going to be united and are wanting to see a new change come across the country," said Allen.
She mentioned the economy and energy as main focuses for her husband's campaign for US Senate.
