Craigsville Woman Dies After Being Sent Home from Hospital

A Craigsville woman has died from injuries in a car crash, after being sent home from the hospital. State police say 49-year-old Clara Marie Lucas ran off the road Wednesday morning on Route 42 not far from her home.

She was wearing a seat belt, and the car's airbag did not deploy. Lucas was treated and released from Augusta Health soon after the accident.

But later in the day, she was taken back to the hospital and then transferred to the University of Virginia Medical Center, where she died of her injuries.
