Fire Heavily Damages Home in Augusta

A fire heavily damaged a home in Augusta County. The blaze was discovered shortly before 5 p.m., in a house on Cattle Scales Road near Waynesboro.

Firefighters say a child first noticed smoke from the fire, which caused about $180,000 worth of damage.

Three children were at home when the blaze broke out, but everyone got out safely. There's no word yet on what caused the fire.
