Former Waynesboro City Councilor Looks to Return

A former Waynesboro city councilor who lost her seat in the election two years ago is looking to return this May.

Lorie Smith announced she is running for the at-large council seat currently held by Mayor Frank Lucente. The two served on council together for several years until Smith lost her re-election bid in 2010.

Smith says the city needs strong leadership in economic development and that council needs to improve the relationship with the school board. Lucente already announced his plans to run for re-election.
