UVa offensive coordinator Bill Lazor says he will be Virginia's offensive coordinator for the upcoming season. The news came in a press release Friday night from UVa.
Lazor confirms that he did talk to an NFL team about a coaching vacancy but has decided to stay at Virginia. Fox Sports reported that Lazor was one of two finalist for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator job.
Lazor says "In my two years in Charlottesville I have grown to appreciate coach London, the University and the things he is doing with our football program. Yes we've made some progress, but we have even higher goals we want to achieve and I'm excited that I will be here to be part of the ongoing process."
Mike London says about Lazor, "He has done a wonderful job with the development of our team and I know he believes we can make even more improvement this year."
