The next book you buy could help victims of sexual assault. The Charlottesville High School Book Fair is benefiting the Sexual Assault Resource Agency (SARA).
Margaret Mikkelsen is executive director of SARA and said a portion of what's sold this Saturday at Barnes and Noble at the Barracks Road Shopping Center will fund some of SARA's programs.
"One of the things we're trying to raise money for is to provide for what we call our emergency advocates. They're the folks that go to the emergency room to provide support in the immediate aftermath of an assault," Mikkelsen said.
Throughout Saturday there will be special events including book signings by authors and kid activities.
The book fair begins at noon and wraps up at 9 p.m.
