UPDATE MAY 04, 2012: The medical examiners office has listed James Alvin Shifflett's cause of death as 'suicide by drowning'.
Albemarle County police say they are sure the body found in the Rivanna Reservoir on Thursday, January 26 is a missing Earlysville man.
The medical examiner's report has not come back yet but investigators were able to identify the man as 69-year-old James Shifflett.
Shifflett was reported missing in December. In January, his body turned up in the reservoir, along with personal items that led police to believe it was him.
