A "soccer dad" from Waynesboro will spend 10 days in jail for assaulting his child's coach. Gregory Edmonds Jones, 45, had faced a felony charge, but pleaded guilty Friday to a misdemeanor count of assault.
The incident happened in June, after an Augusta FC match for second and third graders. Prosecutors say Jones yelled at the volunteer coach during the game, then followed him to his car and shoved him. The victim suffered a broken bone in his shoulder, and needed surgery.
