A science club at Charlottesville High School is planning a trip to Europe at the end of March, but they still need to raise money.
Thirty-two students from the Best All Around Club of Nerds (BACON) will visit the European Organization for Nuclear Research in Geneva, Switzerland. It costs about $2,000 per student, and so far, they've only raised around $3,000.
CHS student and BACON president, Jessie Press-Williams says, "We're really struggling, because we want everyone to be able to go because it's such a great opportunity, but definitely finances are difficult,"
This Friday the club is holding an open mike night at the high school to raise money. Tickets are $5 per person and it begins at 7:30 p.m.
BACON has created a web site to process donations via fundraising site Indie Gogo: http://www.indiegogo.com/BACONATCERN
