The Cavaliers got a game high 23 points and 10 rebounds from Mike Scott, and Joe Harris had a season high 19 points helping Virginia beat Clemson 65-61. The 'Hoos improve to 5-2 in the ACC.
Virginia trailed by 4 at halftime but went on a 19-3 run early in the second half and never trailed after that. The 'Hoos shot 56 percent from the field. Virginia is now 15-0 this season when shooting 40 percent or better. Harris made 5 of 6 three pointers.
Harris said, "I was getting room and rhythm looks and kept my eyes on the basket. When I got my opportunity to get a clean look I was letting it go.
Scott said, " They were double teaming me so I hit Akil, I hit Malcolm, I'm finding my teammates when they double team me and if they're not, I'm just playing my game.
Virginia is now 18-3 overall. That's the Cavalier's best start since going 27-3 to open the 1982-83 season.
