'Hoos Try to Tame Tigers on Tuesday

Posted: Updated:

The 'Hoos Host Clemson for a big ACC Battle Tuesday at 7pm at JPJA.  Virginia has a record of 4-2 in the ACC.  The Tigers are 3-3 under second year head coach, Brad Brownell.

The Tigers are led by senior guard Andre Young who's averaging 14 points and 4 assists per game.   Clemson has won two straight beating Georgia Tech and Wake Forest.

Expect a low scoring game Tuesday.  Clemson ranks second in the ACC in scoring defensive, only behind Virginia.

UVA Coach, Tony Bennett says about his guys, "They'll play a hard defensive minded team and it will be a battle, that's ACC basketball. Every game out home or away if you play well you'll have a chance, if your not its going to be tough and that's the beauty of this league and I'm sure for the fans its enjoyable but for the coaches its a grinder."

The Tigers will be without junior forward Milton Jennings.  He was suspended Monday for academic reasons.   Jennings was averaging 9 points and five rebounds per game.
