After winning both of their games this past week, the UVA men's basketball team is up three spots in both the AP poll and the coaches poll. The Cavaliers are ranked 16th in the nation this week by the AP and 18th by the coaches.
The 'Hoos are now 4-2 in the ACC after getting a big road win in Raleigh Saturday night beating NC State 61-60. Mike Scott led all scorers with 18 points, but the Cavaliers really benefited from a hot shooting night from Sammy Zeglinksi. He made 4 of 5 three pointers finishing with 12 points. In Virginia's four ACC wins, Zeglinski is shooting close to 50 percent from 3-point range, but in Virginia's two ACC losses, Zeglinkski is 0-11 from behind the arc.
UVA Head Coach, Tony Bennett says, " There's no secret when we don't have a ton of depth perimeter shooting for us, whether it be Sammy or Joe or any of the guys, its important because it gives us a dual attack. We have Mike attacking from the inside and a bit from the outside but we need the perimeter if you look at any team in college basketball the ability to stretch the defense is important, it frees Mike up some and it helps us out."
Virginia will play its third game in six days Tuesday hosting Clemson at 7 o'clock.
