The Salvation Army is collecting shoes for the homeless throughout Charlottesville this month. The Ragged Mountain Running Shop is among several drop off points in the area. The running store will even give shoppers 10 percent off if they donate a pair of their used shoes.
Cynthia Lorenzoni is co-owner of the store and said over the years the shoe drive has gained a lot of support.
"Some days it's like a full bag every day. Some weeks we have seven garbage bags full of shoes," Lorenzoni said.
The Salvation Army will collect shoes up until February 3rd. Then they'll be distributed February 4th. Volunteers are needed.
