Saturday, young women from Charlottesville had the opportunity to get an extra dose of self-esteem. Wellness Coach Deedee Stewart brought her passion to help young women to the Jefferson Madison Regional Library with a program called "A Girl's Guide to Living Well."
The workshop included topics on body image, eating mindfully and developing positive self-esteem.
Stewart explained, "The dangers of low self-esteem are what brings extremes of behavior, and that leads to the problems of high school and college that really derail them from the life that they had intended."
The workshop is part of a global effort by Dove to widen stereotypical views of beauty. The campaign for "Real Beauty" has already reached 2 million young women across the United States.
