The JMU men's basketball team lost to George Mason 89-83 in CAA play Saturday night at the Convocation Center in Harrisonburg.
The Dukes drop to 8-9 overall, 1-5 in the CAA with their fifth straight conference loss.
George Mason has won 17 of the last 18 meetings with James Madison, including six straight.
The Patriots jumped out to an 18-9 lead, led by 21 at 43-22, and took a 45-30 halftime advantage.
Mason pushed its lead back to as many as 24 points in the second half before James Madison rallied late.
Five Patriots scored in double figures as the team shot 57.8% from the field (26-45).
Four JMU players finished with double digits.
Junior Devon Moore and senior Humpty Hitchens each had 19 points in the loss.
A.J. Davis scored 17 points, grabbed a team-high six rebounds, and had a team-high three steals for the Dukes.
Andrey Semenov added 13 points in the loss.
JMU returns to action Wednesday night. The Dukes play at UNC Wilmington at 7:00.
