More than 50 Albemarle sheriff's deputies, volunteers and other rescue personnel will ramp up their search for a missing Earlysville man Saturday.
The search team will gather at 8 a.m. at Broadus Wood Elementary School to continue looking for 69-year-old James Shifflett.
Sheriff's deputies will canvass a nearby farm, while divers continue searching the South Fork Rivanna Reservoir. Previous search efforts there have been unsuccessful.
Sgt. Darrell Byers with Albemarle County police said, "We were dealing with some adverse situations before. Obviously the water level was up, and the water was a little murky as well, so hopefully things have settled a little bit and will allow for more visibility."
Shifflett was last seen the night of Wednesday, December 7. That's when his red Ford F-150 was discovered abandoned, with the headlights on and the keys removed.
Anyone with information is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 434-977-4000.
