London and Chizik Meet Chick-fil-A Bowl Media in Atlanta
The University of Virginia has sold about 13,400 tickets to the Chick-fil-A bowl as of Monday morning. That means UVA still has about 4,600 tickets left in its allotment.
Head coach Mike London says it's important that his players, potential recruits, and bowl game executives see a supportive Wahoo fan base for this bowl game.
Coach London was in Atlanta Monday, along with Auburn head coach Gene Chizik, for the Chick-fil-A Bowl Media Day.
It was the coaches' first joint appearance since their teams were selected to the Atlanta-based bowl game. The coaches talked about the matchup.
London says, "They are truly an athletic team. They remind me of Florida State. The guy that runs out and get the tee after the kickoff, he's even fast. It's truly a tribute to Coach Chizik and his staff the team they've put together and the young guys they've gone out and recruited."
Chizik says, "One of the things that is most impressive in watching Mike's team is the way they win games. I don't know schematically, offensively they do a lot of different things in movements that can confuse the defense. One of the most impressive things about watching Virginia is how they win games. They play great defense."
