Vacant Home Destroyed By Early Morning Fire

An early morning house fire in Albemarle County is under investigation.

Around 5 a.m., several fire departments were called to a home on Echo Valley Road near Barboursville for a fully involved fire. They spent several hours on the scene not far from the Orange County line.

Fire officials say the home was vacant at the time after a renter just moved out a few days ago.

The home is a total loss. No one was hurt.
