An organization that usually gives is instead getting this holiday season.
When Martha Jefferson Hospital moved, Habitat for Humanity found itself without an office to call home. Now thanks to the Marshall family, Habitat has a new building rent-free for the next six years. The gift will save Habitat around $60,000 a year.
Habitat for Humanity Executive Director Dan Rosensweig said, "This is just one of so many different ways that people step up and help Habitat lend a helping hand to hardworking low income families in the community who just simply want the opportunity for a better life."
Habitat's new home will be at 919 West Main Street in Charlottesville. With the help of CMS Construction, they plan to be up and running before Christmas.
