Valley Foundations Debut Online Common Grant Application

Posted: Updated:

The valley's four largest sources of charitable dollars are now working together to make a bigger impact.  The Community Foundation, the United Way, Community Action Partnership of Staunton, Augusta, and Waynesboro (CAPSAW), and the Augusta Health Foundation, have introduced a common grant application.

It debuted online this week.  The new method aims to save time for volunteers seeking the funds, make grant review more efficient, and meet more community needs.

Christiana Shields with the Community Foundation of the Central Blue Ridge stated, "This way they can have many of the same materials, but they can tailor each of their applications just a little bit for each of the organizations.  We're hoping by working together, we can meet more needs because we're not all doing the same exact thing, and that our dollars - especially these days - will go farther."

The four agencies combined to award $1.8 million over the past year.  To find the online application, click here.
