Fenwick Campaigns on Charlottesville Downtown Mall

Bob Fenwick, an independent candidate for Charlottesville City Council was out campaigning Saturday on Charlottesville's downtown mall. He took to the mall outside the Wells Fargo branch Saturday afternoon to show his support for environmental issues.

Members of the Sierra Cub joined him.

Fenwick continued to express his opposition to the city's portion of the Meadow Creek Parkway which will run through McIntire Park. "Where is the commitment of Charlottesville to green space? We are not getting more park land or the protection of existing park land. We are getting parcels of land on un-buildable lots," he said.

Fenwick says the park is slowly being destroyed piece by piece. He also says the city should encourage the use of public transportation by making the bus service completely free.
