The Charlottesville Police Foundation is getting some extra help. The group now has an executive director for the first time. Mindy Goodall will work part-time to help the organization grow.
The foundation is an independent, non-profit group of people who help the city's police department get the tools and training needed to get the job done.
"We really don't have a whole lot of overhead so the executive director role is exciting and just means we're going to be able to do more things. Our mission remains the same," explained Goodall.
The foundation also hosts an annual awards dinner to honor the police department and recognize individual achievements. The awards dinner will be held later this month.
