One of the men charged in connection with the Earlysville fatal dog shooting in January, will serve two years in prison.
On Tuesday, Brian Tichner, 21, pleaded guilty to a firearm possession charge inside Albemarle County Circuit Court.
He got a five year sentence with all but two years suspended. He will also have to be on good behavior for five years after he's released.
In January a 10-month-old Siberian Husky named Mattie was found shot dead on her family's property in the Fray's Ridge Crossing subdivision in Earlysville.
In March, 21-year-old Brian Tichner of Dyke and 26-year-old Justin Riggs of Charlottesville were arrested in connection with the shooting.
