A Waynesboro woman accused of gunning down her husband will have to remain behind bars.

Forty-seven-year-old Debra Key Washington faces five felony charges, including first-degree murder.

Washington allegedly ditched her car and ran from deputies on July 22, but later turned herself in to police. That same day, investigators found the body of Clarence Washington in a wooded area along Coal Road near Sherando.

Wednesday a judge denied bond to Washington. Her attorney says the case may be one of self-defense.
