Albemarle police say 47-year-old Carey Hicks, of Crozet, is recovering from a stab wound at the University of Virginia Medical Center. Hicks was reportedly stabbed off Bent Creek Road in Charlottesville, located in Albemarle County. He was later found by Charlottesville police in the 600 block of Harris Road in the city.
Police say Hicks was stabbed following an altercation with 50-year-old Linda Doig, of Charlottesville. Investigators say the case remains under investigation and any charges are pending further investigation.
Charlottesville and Albemarle County police are investigating a stabbing that sent one man to the University of Virginia Medical Center Saturday night.
Officers say they found a man crouching in the bushes in the 600 block of Harris Road in the city at around 9 p.m.. The man was stabbed in the stomach and his injuries are not considered life-threatening.
Investigators believe he was not stabbed in that neighborhood, but walked from the location of that stabbing. They believe the stabbing occurred in Albemarle County, however the exact location has yet to be determined.
Albemarle Police have a female in custody in that stabbing and say the two are acquaintances. Police have not released the identity of either the male or female involved in this incident.
