Volvo of Charlottesville is selling new cars that can actually stop an accident before it happens.
The Volvo XC60 comes with the "city safety" feature. It's a system designed to bring a car to a complete stop in low-speed, high traffic situations.
Dealers say the new technology has manufacturers all around the world taking notice.
"When this car is going under 20 miles per hour and the driver is distracted - whether they're texting or talking to their friend or on their phone - and they don't notice that the car in front of them has come to a stop, this car, at the last minute, will stop itself and stop the car from impacting the car in front of it," said Liza Borches with the Volvo of Charlottesville.
The new technology was tested in Greene County. Volvo is hoping it will help lower insurance costs by preventing accidents in the first place.
