Virginia Tech rising junior cornerback Jayron Hosley is one of 40 players named to the pre-season watch list for the Walter Camp Player of the Year Award Monday.
Hosley led the nation with nine interceptions in 13 starts as a sophomore last season.
He had three picks in one game against North Carolina State.
The nine interceptions tied a single-season school record at Tech.
Hosley also returned two punts for touchdowns, helping him earn All-American honors.
Hosley is also on watch lists for the Bednarik (best defensive player), Bronko Nagurski (best defensive player), and Jim Thorpe (best defensive back) Awards, as well as the Lott IMPACT Trophy watch list.
The Walter Camp watch list will be narrowed down to ten semifinals in November. The winner will be announced December 8 live on ESPN SportsCenter.
