The Daylily and Wine Festival brought about 5,000 visitors to Fishersville this weekend. The annual event celebrates Virginia agriculture.

It's named after the yellow flowers that populate much of the 200 acre Andre Viette Farm and Nursery. There was also plenty of food and music, as well as 22 wineries from across the Shenandoah Valley and central Virginia, which served up tasting's.

Mark Viette, of Viette Farm and Nursery said, "When you look at it, the Shenandoah Valley is one of the best areas to grow grapes in the whole state of Virginia, so you notice in the Shenandoah Valley many new vineyards being started."

The festival - now in its 15th year - has been named one of the top 20 events of July by the Southeast Tourism Society.
