According to an article from Forbes Magazine, the city of Charlottesville is the "locavore" capital of the world. The locavore movement refers to communities where people insist on eating food grown close to home.
Charlottesville's Relay Foods is looking to capitalize on this movement by offering online access to thousands of home-grown food items.
Zach Buckner, the founder and CEO of Relay Foods said, "This is considered the epicenter of the local food movement, with Polyface Farms nearby, of course. This has been a great place to start the business. The Charlottesville community really gets what we're doing."
Workers at Relay Foods believe the locavore movement is a wave of the future and that more communities will start catching on in the years to come.
