A non-profit animal rescue in Orange County is looking to expand. Rikki's Refuge takes in animals that most shelters won't.
As a result, workers there say the facility is bursting at the seams. Right now they house dozens of dogs, rabbits, chickens, and nearly 700 cats.
Sanctuary Manager Lena Stocks said, "Of course they're guinea pigs out there that parents think are cute and they buy it for the kids and once it bites the kid, they take them to shelters then, and most shelters don't house animals like that. They're just there for the cats and dogs."
The shelter is asking for the public's help so they can expand operations. For more information, click here.
